Today's Podcast: Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency interest from the investing public goes hot and cold like no other asset we’re aware of- we won’t hear a mention of them for months or a year, and then a flurry of interest floods in all at once. We’ve been hearing a lot about cryptocurrencies from clients lately and decided to have a conversation about them on the podcast.

We usually put this in the disclaimer box below, but we’ll highlight it here as well: cryptocurrencies are not actual investments in our view. We see them as akin to collectibles for the most part. Don’t make major allocations to them in general. Do a lot of research. Be intensely skeptical!

And as an addendum, because we do briefly mention taxes in the podcast, a) we’re not tax people and nothing we say here is actual tax advice. We’ll be the first to tell you, please talk to an accountant if you’re getting in to make money off of exotic assets like crypto! and b) here’s the IRS’s guidance on cryptocurrency page that is highly recommended if this is an area of interest to you.
