The Event: Q&A - All Things DeFi & Crypto (August 27th, 5:30 PM Pacific)
These days, we get a lot of questions about Cryptocurrencies, DeFi (Decentralized Finance), NFT’s, etc. We’ve approached this in various ways over time, but we decided to have our first Crypto themed Q&A event.
This event will be really similar to the Money Study Hall & Portland In Color events we’ve done over the past couple of years, but this time, it’s just the Chaim Investment Advisors team that will be speaking. Over time, we’ll do more of these and probably have some special guests at future events, but we wanted the inaugural event to be familiar to people who’ve worked with us before.
The Link
You can find our Metaverse Office here: https://www.cryptovoxels.com/play?coords=N@813W,411N . You can also just search for “Chaim” in the search bar within Cryptovoxels.
Where Is the Event? How Do I Get There?
The event will be not on zoom (Baruch HaShem) and not on YouTube. It will be on a website called Cryptovoxels. The exact location link will be down below- just click that to join when the event happens. You don’t need a log-in to go to Cryptovoxels.com. If you want to actually talk, engage, ask questions, and participate directly, you can log on to Cryptovoxels by using a Coinbase or Metamask wallet to sign in. There’s a little “Sign In” tab when you’re in the website. That’ll prompt you to link your wallet, and that happens very quickly and simply. If you’re used to using these kinds of wallets, it will be a familiar process.
Some of you are probably asking yourselves “why are they having an event on a random website?” And as it happens, this is the unofficial announcement of our new office space on this website. You can learn a lot more about that on our instagram. This event will take place at the Chaim Investment Advisors Metaverse Financial Wellness Center. That answer may have left you with even more questions (“what is a Metaverse and why are you telling me to go there?”, “What does this have to do with Cryptocurrencies?”). And in that case, this event is very much for you.
We’re trying to shift toward doing our educating on topics around Crypto and Blockchain to the Blockchain itself. The Cryptovoxels Metaverse (which is just a website you can go to on your laptop, computer, smartphone, or even VR headset) is a digital environment that’s on the Blockchain. What it means for a place to be on the Blockchain- why you’d want to do such a thing and what you can do as a result- is something that would be almost impossible to describe in writing but incredibly obvious within the space itself. Think of this as learning about China by going to China as opposed to learning about it from someone writing a blog about it. Except there will be no jet lag and, sadly, no Chinese food.
If you have no idea what a Metamask wallet is or how to get one, it’s very easy. First, I’d check out this great intro because it’s much more succinct than I could be. Metamask (or Coinbase Wallet, an alternative that’s also free and very useful if you use Coinbase itself) is a browser extension that’s very easy to add if you use Chrome browser. Just check out the download page on their website: https://metamask.io/download.html It’ll walk you through setting one up.
